International Waendel Weekend
May14th & 15th
All routes started and finished at The Castle,Castle Way, Wellingborough,
Routes of 15km,25km, & 42km on both days which started at 07.30hrs all routes were to be finished by 1900hrs.
Every thing went almost like clock work this year

Saturday
Car park location for repeater staion was not ideal as there were several blank radio spots particuarly in low arears.
A new location will be found in time for next year's walk. several locations were noted on the day.
courses appeared to be follwable well

Sunday

Location for repeater staion at O.G's worked well. So well that we caused radio interference with Raynet operations in Notts and Sussex!!

Course again ok.

In general a trouble free event, although time and effort was wasted following people not on the event (maybe a need for some type of recognition tagging)?

Several small signage problems were noted and passed to Robin.

Life was made so much easier by being in radio contact with Anne (water and checkpoint queries), Malcolm with Robin, route sign damage and fixing, so much so, that almost every problem was fixed before the organiser found out there was a problem.

This also made checkpoint closure so trouble free.

All in all from a Raynet point of view this was probably the best controlled event to date.

SOAPBOX
Daventry District first Soapbox GP and activity day was a great success.
There was something for everyone to enjoy and it was wonderful to see so many people in the town centre.
The Explorer Scouts soapbox GP was keenly contested.

Each kart was judged in terms of its design, quality of the engineering, it's look and feel and then tested during the manoeuverability trial, the time-trial and the novelty test.

Raynet did a great job for us yesterday, thank you.
You managed the safety role on the High Street very professionally and helped make the event overall a great success.
Best wishes
